BEYOND THE BEAUTIFUL AESTHETIC, THE ARGONAUT IS A CARBON FIBER MASTERPIECE

A hand-crafted bike that stands out from the crowd

Tuesday, January 16, 2018 — The best bike eye-candy there is

Finding your dream bike is no easy task. Amongst the sea of massed produced and lackluster framesets, it can be challenging to find something that stands out from the crowd. Thankfully, a handful of independent bike-smiths are setting out to add a bit of character and beauty to the bike market.

Introducing Argonaut and owner Ben Farver who builds custom carbon fiber frames made by hand in Bend, OR. Argonaut controls every step of the process including designing and making their own tooling for their manufacturing process. Argonaut has won several Best Lay Up awards as well as Best In Show at NAHBS 2014, (North American Handmade Bicycle Show) becoming the first carbon builder to receive this prestigious award.

What Makes an Argonaut Different?

  • Custom fitted to the rider in both size and the frame’s carbon layup; tailoring specifically to the riding style and preference of feel on the road.
  • Argonaut controls every step of the process, including designing and making their own tooling for their manufacturing process.
  • First carbon builder to receive Best in Show at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show.

Argonaut’s dialed in process of making some of the most beautiful and precision-crafted carbon fiber bikes in the world will not change. This unique process begins with individual pieces of pre-impregnated carbon fiber laminate. These plies are laid on a rigid latex bladder with specific orientation, and molded using Argonaut proprietary, adjustable aluminum clamshell molds. From scratch, every time, every customer
